Legal

Privacy policy.

Short version: the only personal data here is what you type into a form, and it is used to reply to you.

  • Who is responsible

The data controller is Makia Labs, a French SARL with its registered office at 1 impasse du Roc, 34980 Montferrier-sur-Lez, France (RCS Montpellier 101 344 646), represented by Maria Angel Ferrero. You can reach her directly at hello@aiwithmaria.com, or the company at hello@makialabs.com.

  • What is collected

Only what you choose to send. When you submit an enquiry or booking request, the form records the details you fill in so the request can be answered.

    • Your name and email address
    • Your company or organisation, if you give one
    • The package, format or dates you are interested in
    • The message you write
  • Why it is used, and on what legal basis

To reply to your enquiry, prepare a proposal and keep track of what was agreed. Submitting a form triggers one automatic acknowledgement email so you know the request arrived.

Your details are never sold, rented or shared for advertising, and submitting an enquiry does not add you to the newsletter.

    • Enquiry and booking forms — pre-contractual steps at your request (GDPR art. 6.1.b)
    • Newsletter subscription — your consent (GDPR art. 6.1.a)
  • The newsletter

The weekly letter runs on beehiiv, a newsletter platform based in the United States, and you only join it by subscribing yourself. It keeps your email address and basic delivery statistics such as whether an issue was opened. Every issue carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.

  • Who else sees it

A small number of processors handle data strictly on instruction, each bound by an agreement under article 28 of the GDPR: the hosting and database platform that runs this site (Lovable and Cloudflare, with the database hosted in the EU), the transactional email service that sends the acknowledgement, and beehiiv for the newsletter.

Transfers outside the European Union rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or, failing that, on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Your data is never resold.

  • How long it is kept

Enquiries are kept for up to three years from the last contact, so past conversations and proposals can be picked up again, then deleted. Records tied to a paid engagement are kept for the period accounting rules require. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.

  • Your rights

Under the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, and to object to its use. Write to the contact address above and it will be handled within one month. If you are not satisfied, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr), or with your own national authority.

  • Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and form submissions are stored in an access-controlled database. No system is perfect, so please do not send confidential documents or payment details through the contact form.

  • Children

This site is aimed at professionals and is not intended for children under 16.

  • Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be mentioned in the newsletter.
